If you’re planning a Greece honeymoon itinerary and trying to figure out how to split your time between Santorini, Paros, and Athens — this is exactly how we did it.

We wanted romance. We wanted views. We wanted incredible food. We wanted a balance of iconic and under-the-radar.

And this itinerary delivered all of it.

We did: 4 nights in Santorini → 3 nights in Paros → 2 nights in Athens

Here’s everywhere we stayed, what we did, and exactly where we ate. You can also check out my Instagram stories for a recap and my TikTok page. All my outfits are on my LTK and Amazon storefront.

Santorini Honeymoon (4 Nights)

Hotel: Cocoon Suites in Imerovigli

Starting our honeymoon in Santorini felt like walking into a postcard. White buildings, blue domes, and the caldera stretching forever.

We stayed in Imerovigli, which I highly recommend for a honeymoon. It’s quieter than Oia but still has the most unreal views. Oia was way too crowded even to walk in, so I recommend staying in Fira or Imerovigli. Cocoon Suites felt intimate and romantic — the kind of place where you wake up slowly and just stare at the ocean. We were walking distance to all the fun things in Fira too.

What We Did in Santorini

  • Explored Oia early morning to explore and do a photoshoot (pro tip: skip sunset crowds)

    • We booked an amazing photographer and photo shoot on Get Your Guide for a gorgeous shoot in Oia by the blue domes. Our photographer knew all the best photo spots, how to move through the crowd and we were allowed in places tourists were not. It was amazing. Book our photo shoot HERE.

  • Did a sunset catamaran cruise with Get Your Guide. I did a lot of research to find the best one for us. We had great homemade BBQ food and unlimited drinks. It was gorgeous. Book HERE.

    • TIP: make sure to book this on the first days of your trip, because a lot of times they get cancelled due to windy weather. I read this on someone else's blog before I went and THANK GOODNESS because our original one was cancelled due to wind and we got to reschedule on our last day, the only other day they offered while we were still on the island!

  • Rented a buggy all day to explore the island...my husband's favorite must do! We asked our hotel where to rent and they set us up with someone down the street that we walked over to. Our guide gave us the map below and told us all the places that were MUST SEE.

    • We visited Red Beach, White Beach, Black Beach, Naboo Beach Club, the Lighthouse and drove through the entire island of Santorini

  • Did sunset at 180 Sunset Bar right near our hotel

  • Wine and cheese board at Santo Wines

  • Spent slow mornings soaking in the caldera views

And yes… we went down the 150 stairs to Ammoudi Bay and went back up on a donkey!

Where We Ate in Santorini

Sunset Tavern in Ammoudi Bay. We had the best lobster pasta of my life here. Like dream meal status. After dinner, we rode donkeys back up the cliff — chaotic, slightly terrifying, and very “we’re really in Greece” energy.

We also ate at:

  • Good Heart

  • Barolo

  • Random places we found walking around in Fira

  • Breakfast at our hotel every morning (so good and such a honeymoon luxury)

Santorini Travel Tips

  • Book dinner reservations in advance.

  • Plan your Oia photos in the morning.

  • Utilize your hotel. Ours booked our taxis and helped us with anything we needed during our stay.

  • Stay at least 4 nights so you can actually relax.

  • Don’t overschedule — Santorini is about soaking it in.

  • Go eat at random spots while you are walking around and get street meat.

Paros Honeymoon (3 Nights)

Hotel: Parocks Luxury Hotel

Paros was our exhale.

After the drama of Santorini, Paros felt effortlessly chic and relaxed. We stayed at Parocks, which had the best breakfast (I still think about it). It felt modern but still very Greek.

What We Did in Paros

  • Wandered Naoussa every night

  • Ate fresh donuts on the street after dinner

  • Took a little day trip to Antiparos

    • It is only a 15 minute ferry ride and we took our rental car on the ferry!

  • Spent time just enjoying slower island life

  • Enjoyed our private beach in front of our hotel

  • Beach club in Antiparos

Paros feels more local and less touristy

Where We Ate in Paros

Axinos (Naoussa) We danced on tables. That’s the headline. Brandon ordered a $60 ribeye, I had amazing sushi, and it turned into one of those nights you never forget.

Captain Pipinos (Antiparos) Fresh seafood, right on the water — such a classic Greek experience.

Meltemi Restaurant (at Parocks) Beautiful, easy, romantic dinner at our hotel.

And yes — the street donuts in Naoussa are mandatory.

Paros Travel Tips

  • Rent a car or ATV.

  • Spend time in Naoussa at night — it’s magical.

  • If you’re debating Mykonos vs. Paros for a honeymoon, choose Paros if you want romance without the chaos.

Athens Honeymoon (2 Nights)

Hotel: InterContinental Athens

Athens was the perfect ending. After island views and swimsuits, we shifted into history, culture, and incredible local food.

What We Did in Athens

  • Visited the Acropolis and did a tour of the Parthenon. If you want to explore a few more historic spots at and surrounding the Parthenon I recommend you get a ticket that includes this all in one ticket, that’s what we did. Book our tour HERE.

  • Walked through Plaka

  • Rooftop drinks with Parthenon views

We went to 360 Cocktail Bar just for drinks, and the view of the Acropolis at night is unreal.

Where We Ate in Athens

Tyllixto – grabbed a gyro here and it was so good. Simple, fast, perfect.

Grill House Vassilis – one of our favorite stops. The owner, Spiros, made it such a memorable experience. So warm, so local, so good.

Stone Athens – we had to go because… our new last name is Stone. Obviously. It felt meant to be.

Athens Travel Tips

  • Two nights is perfect unless you’re a huge history lover.

  • Do a rooftop bar at night.

  • Don’t skip local gyro spots — some of the best meals are casual.

Why This Greece Honeymoon Itinerary Works

This order was intentional:

Santorini (iconic romance)→ Paros (relaxed charm)→ Athens (culture + city energy)

It never felt rushed. Each destination had a completely different personality. It gave us drama, dancing, history, seafood, wine, and so many slow mornings together.

Best Time for a Greece Honeymoon

We went in early October and it was perfect:

  • Warm but not unbearable

  • Fewer crowds

  • Easier dinner reservations

  • Better hotel pricing

  • More relaxed energy

  • PS: some things in Paros already started closing first week of October, so keep that in mind. One of our dinner reservation was accepted but they were boarding that ppave up when we arrived. They may close down whenever they feel like it!

I would absolutely recommend September or early October for a honeymoon in Greece.

What I’d Tell Any Bride Planning a Greece Honeymoon

  • Pick 2–3 destinations max.

  • Stay longer in fewer places.

  • Book your key dinners ahead of time.

  • Build in rest days.

  • Put your phone down more than you think you need to.

Greece is romantic without trying. The food is simple but unforgettable. The light hits differently. Every night feels like a movie.

If you’re planning a Santorini and Paros honeymoon with Athens at the end, this exact itinerary was magic for us.

And I would choose it all over again.
